Man Dead After Being Shot 5 Times In West Dublin

A man aged 36 has died after a shooting incident which occurred in Clondalkin, Dublin shortly before 10pm last night.

It’s believed that the victim was shot up to five times, and was attended to by emergency services at the scene on Wheatfields Avenue where he was later pronounced dead.

It’s understood that the man was known to the gardai, and was out on bail for gun offences at the time of the attack.

A garda spokesman said last night: “Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a shooting incident at Wheatfields Avenue, Clondalkin in Dublin.

“The incident was reported to gardaí at 9.40pm.  A man in his 30s was seriously injured in the shooting incident. The area is currently sealed off and a forensic examination of the area will take place.”
