Young Man Rushed To Hospital Following Shooting Saturday Night In Dublin

A man, who is in his 30s, has been taken to hospital following a shooting in west Dublin yesterday evening.

The shooting happened at approximately 8.20pm, with Gardaí from Ballyfermot being called to the scene, at Cherry Orchard Court, shortly after.

The badly-injured victim was brought from the scene by ambulance to St James’ Hospital where his injuries are described as not life threatening.

In a statement Gardaí said:

“Gardaí from Ballyfermot are at the scene of a shooting incident at Cherry Orchard Court. The incident occurred at approximately 2020hrs. A male aged in his 30s injured in the incident has been taken by ambulance to St James’s Hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening. The scene is preserved for a technical examination. No arrests have been made an enquiries are ongoing.”

This is the second shooting to take place in the estate in the last year.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination. And while no arrests have been made as of yet, inquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Cherry Orchard Court area at the time of the incident or who may have information, to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01-6667200 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
