Dubliners Are Very Annoyed With MyTaxi's Latest Decision

If you were planning a big night out in Dublin on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, you might have to resort to walking home or getting the bus or luas.

Mytaxi has said that it will not be taking pre-bookings on two of the busiest nights of the year due to high demand.

The prebooking function will be turned off from 6pm on December 24 until 5am on December 26, and from 6pm on December 31 until 5am on January 1.

"Instant hails will be available, although demand will be very high," the company said in a statement.

"Christmas is the busiest time of year for taxis. Like you, lots of drivers will be spending quality time with their loved ones."

This will ensure the "best possible experience" over Christmas according to the company.

The restrictions will also apply to mytaxi business users.
