One Reported Dead After The Shooting In Dublin’s Regency Hotel

A trio of gunmen entered the Regency Hotel around 2.30pm this afternoon and fired a number of shots, reportedly resulting in one death.

The attackers were dressed in police-like uniforms and holding AK47s, accordings to witnesses. Most present in the hotel fled when the men starting firing in the foyer of the building, but two were injured in the process, with one man reported to have died at the scene.

According to Independent.ie, the three victims were aged in their twenties or thirties and were taken to Beaumont and the Mater Hospital. The two injured men are not thought to be in a life-threatening condition. 

There is now a large Garda presence around the hotel. 

The shootings coincided with the ‘Clash Of The Clans’ boxing weigh-in at the hotel.
