Parking Fees Could Be Hiked In Dublin Next Year

Jen

It could soon cost you a lot more to park your car in Dublin.

Car users are facing hikes of 10% next summer which will see people paying €3.20 per hour to park the car in the city centre.

According to the Irish Examiner, this is an attempt to encourage more people to cycle or use public transport.

The increases would, however, also generate an extra €3 million a year in revenue for transport related services.

Dublin City Council has yet to vote on the increase, but areas have already been earmarked and named as ‘yellow’ or ‘red zones’.
