Residents in the Phoenix Park area of the city have reportedly requested extra security ahead of Ed Sheeran’s upcoming Dublin gigs.
Several gig-goers were stabbed during a Swedish House Mafia gig at the venue in 2012 and according to Dublin Live, locals are concerned that Sheeran’s three-night run could also result in anti-social behaviour.
A spokesperson for the residents told the Irish Daily Star that they were seeking guarantees that the “annoyances” associated with previous performances would be avoided this time around.
A forum to discuss a new garda safety strategy for Phoenix Park gigs will take place later this week.
