The George is a queer space, open to all, in Dublin's city centre.
Opened in 1985—eight years before homosexuality was legalised in Ireland—it is one of the nation's oldest gay bars, and 100% one of the most iconic.
And this morning, two years pretty much to the day of the joyous occasion of Ireland voting for marriage equality for all, The George was cruelly vandalised.
This is horrific.
Twitter user Gary Shaw posted the original photo which was taken at 6.25am this morning where you can see all the slurs and derogatory symbols that appeared overnight.
Reports say that Dublin City Council have already started the clean up - here's hoping the vandals who disgraced the bar front can be caught from CCTV.
