They’re images that will give chills to anyone who regularly cycles in the city centre.
But these photos, tweeted in the last half hour by the Dublin Fire Brigade, are important reminders of the need to take care on the city roads – for drivers and cyclists alike.
While the person had what they described as a “lucky escape” after being thrown off the bike, they were still left with a “nasty leg injury”, and the organisation pleaded with cyclists to wear helmets at all times.

Hopefully the cyclist enjoys a speedy recovery, and thank goodness this wasn’t a whole lot worse.
