PICS: This Deadly Mural By Maser Just Popped Up On Liffey Street

One of the best things about Dublin is the wealth of street art around the city and there's a very cool new addition this morning.

A brand new graffiti installation by Maser has popped up at Liffey Street and is the first in a new series of art inspired by Dublin's Botanic Gardens.

"I've been doing some research for the past few months on botanics and their role and effect on us. It has naturally brought me to the National Botanical Gardens Dublin to take photos of the plants I've found of interest," he explained.

"From those sketches and photographs, I've integrated their loose forms into my 'hard lined' art and applied the new compositions to my canvas and prints works. Now this will be my first mural of the new series of work."

The mural is part of a new collaboration with Arnotts, who are aiming to "bring the outdoors indoors" over the summer months, and the location was chosen as it is one of the key landmarks when approaching the department store from the Ha'penny Bridge.

The City Is My Garden campaign will run until the end of July and will encouraging people to slow down and appreciate both art and nature in a different environment.

The windows of the famous Henry Street store will also be transformed as part of the campaign, creating an urban garden that will educate customers on sustainability and incorporate floral fashion elements.

“When we were planning our Summer concept, I really wanted to try to capture some of the beauty of the city from it’s many beautiful parks and gardens to raw urban street art.

"When we thought of an iconic Dublin garden, the nearby Botanic Gardens were a natural fit and we are delighted to work with Maser to bring the urban aspect to the garden. We hope customers will take time to enjoy discovering more about all things botanical through our infographics and educational installations.”
