Will the world ever truly get over the loss of Harambe?
Probably not. But this might just help.
A change.org petition is currently doing the rounds online, with the aim of naming Dublin Zoo’s new baby gorilla after the Silverback who was controversially shot dead in Cincinnati last May.
And guess what?
It’s actually starting to gain some support, with some 840 people having signed it at the time of writing.
Of course, the sex of the baby gorilla is not yet known, as mother Lena has been keeping the baby close to her chest. But as the petition’s creator Victor Branagan helpfully suggests:
Let us remember and honour Harambe by naming the baby gorilla after Harambe. Dublin Zoo could call it Harambe Jr or Harambetta (if it’s a girl).
Well, you can’t argue with that
So if you fancy it, you can sign the petition here.
The new arrival at the zoo was born to Lena two weeks ago today.
Its father was Harry, the well known silverback who sadly passed away in May of this year following a short illness.
