Part of a series of operations involving Customs and the Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals, the majority of the dogs were found in a van while a number of others were concealed in horse box on its way to the UK.

According to RTE, The puppies didn’t have the required pet passports for exportation and all were under the legal age for export.

It was the seventh seizure of puppies in the past two months and 150 of the animals have been seized at Dublin Port this year.

The DSPCA have said that they are looking to find homes for the puppies. Anyone interested are asked not to call or email but instead to visit their office in Rathfarnham.
