‘Serial’ Producers Are Revisiting The First Season’s Adnan Syed For Three Special Episodes

Fans of the first season of Serial will have been following news from Baltimore fairly closely this week.

There's a post-conviction hearing for Adnan Syed – whose conviction for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee formed the centre of the series – in which he's seeking to have the conviction overturned on the basis of new evidence uncovered by the podcast.

The page on the Serial website reads:

This week, Sarah Koenig ducks back into the Adnan Syed case for a few days. There’s a hearing in Baltimore—a court proceeding that’s been nearly sixteen years in the making. Syed’s attorney will introduce new evidence, and present a case for why his conviction should be overturned. Sarah and producer Dana Chivvis will discuss what happens, day by day.
