Some Dublin Airport Flights Have Been Grounded As Icy Weather Forecast

katedemolder

A number of flights between Dublin and London Heathrow this evening have been cancelled as a direct consequence of bad weather forecast to hit Ireland this evening.

The cold, wintry weather is set to sweep across the country over the next two days, with counties  in the north and west suffering most.

According to Met Éireann, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Sligo, Mayo and Leitrim will be bearing the brunt of it the most.

Both Aer Lingus and British Airways flights between Dublin and Heathrow airports are included in 80 departures and arrivals to Heathrow that have been cancelled for this evening.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines.

Gritters were on the roads in Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim from the early hours.

Light snow has already fallen in several parts of the country this morning.
