St. Mary’s Pro-Cathedral Has Launched Their Annual Appeal For Unwanted Gifts

What a wonderful idea.

St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral in Dublin has launched its annual appeal for unwanted Christmas gifts which can be passed on the less fortunate.

Gifts can be placed at the cathedral crib from today, December 27 until January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany.

Crosscare, the archdiocese’s social care agency, will be the ones distributing the gifts, holding some until next Christmas.

According to the Irish Times, this year alone, Crosscare provided 127,750 bed-nights to more than 1,600 people in six residences for the homeless.

Canon Damian O’Reilly, of the Pro-Cathedral, praised the generosity of local parishioners who had given so much to homeless charities earlier this month, in a series of fundraisers. All proceeds went to Crosscare, the Peter McVerry Trust and the Capuchin day centre.

Receive anything that someone else would love?

Surely we all have.

Now’s your chance to make someone’s Christmas, by dropping them off at the pro-cathedral on Marlborough St, North City, Dublin 1.
