Nine Irish food businesses were served with closure orders during the month of October for breaches of food safety legislation, according to The Food Safety Authority.

Among the nine were three Dublin establishments.

Shan restaurant on Crow Street in Temple Bar was served with a closure order on October 10 which was then lifted nine days later.

Dynasty Chinese in Ballymun was served with a closure order on October 18 and reopened on October 25.

And the public bar within The Sunnybank Hotel was served with a closure order on October 24 but the order was lifted just two days later.

“Food safety is of crucial importance for public health and there can be no excuses from non-compliant food businesses.”

Dr Pamela Byrne, Chief Executive of the FSAI
