Simon Coveney, the Minister for Housing, is set to officially open a new centre for the homeless on Sean McDermott Street in Dublin 1 today.

According to figures released by the Dublin Region Homeless Executive yesterday, however, there are currently 913 homeless families in emergency accommodation.
