The New Luas Line Opened Today And People Are Fairly Chuffed

The new Luas Cross City opened at 2pm today, bringing passengers all the way from Stephen's Green to Broombridge in Cabra.

The line will add 13 new stops over 5.6 kilometres of track and is expected to result in 10 million extra Luas journeys a year.

There were huge queues for the first tram and plenty of excitement in the city centre.

‘In a few weeks, it’ll be packed’.
‘I like the way the stop is well-lit.’

While people's reactions have generally been positive, others criticised the dangers to cyclists posed by the tram tracks.

Question: Why do #cyclists ???????have to dismount at Trinity/College Green?
