The Weather Forecast For NYE Is Here… And It’s Not Looking Good

Now that the Christmas dinner is out of the way, it’s time to start looking forward to New Year’s Eve.

It’s one of the biggest nights of the year but if you’re planning on hitting the town to celebrate the beginning of a new year, you might want to read this first.

Met Eireann has warned that rain is expected to arrive by NYE, meaning that your night could be a bit of a washout if you don’t come prepared.

“Saturday will see a mild and dry start but in the evening, the moderate southwest wind will freshen to become strong in the northwest, while cloud thickens there, bringing rain on to the northwest coast by evening,” said the forecaster.

“The rain will turn persistent and push southeastwards over the country on Saturday night introducing a much colder northerly wind. A frost will develop in the northwest later on Saturday night as the rain clears there and breaks in cloud develop.”

The good news is that it’s supposed to clear on Sunday so you should be ok to head for a walk and clear the hangover!
