Bus Strikes And Train Strikes Might Take Place On The Same Day

una

Dublin and it’s surrounding areas may experience commuter chaos very soon, as there’s a possibility that bus and train drivers will strike on the same day.

Breakdown in negotiations at Irish Rail regarding productivity means the upcoming additional strikes by Dublin Bus could clash with industrial action by the train workers.

A SIPTU official has said that the disputes between the higher authorities and the transport workers will not stop them from striking on the same day.

Irish Rail drivers are hoping to bring their working week of 48 hours currently down to that of 35 hours, which is in line with UK drivers. They’re also seeking a 6% pay increase, similar to that of the Dublin Bus workers.

Dublin Bus will go on strike again Thursday and Friday of next week, and Friday and Saturday of the week after that.
