There Is A Serious Amount Of Cars Being Abandoned On The Streets Of Dublin

clodagh

The number of cars that are being abandoned around Dublin City Centre has increased, drastically.

According to the Irish Times, the number has trebled over the last three years.

Last year alone over 800 cars were picked up and destroyed throughout the country.

Since 2014, over 600 cars were left on the streets of Dublin, meaning the Council had to pick them up and destroy them.

This also means that the cost of removing and destroying these vehicles is increasing – tens of thousands of euros were spent last year on dealing with the abandoned vehicles.

Though the number of cars being found left behind is increasing in Dublin, the Irish Times reports that only one litter fine was given in response to the cars.

This number is expected to rise next year.
