This Dublin Kid Wrote To The Queen To Get The 6 Counties Back – And Here’s The Response

seank

Kids do the darndest things, like write letters to monarchs to kindly ask for entire counties.

After learning about the Easter Rising in school, 12-year-old Dubliner Reese Kilbride thought he’d do his bit to unite the North and the Republic, so he wrote a nicely worded letter to the Queen asking for six counties back. He even included a drawing of Buckingham Palace, just to sweeten the deal.

Appearing on Newstalk today, Reese explained the reasoning behind his letter,

They had the six counties, they didn’t give back all of Ireland – so I thought they should give it back.

His mother also told how she allowed Reese to post the letter in February thinking nothing would become of it, only to get this response last week…
