seank

Two Dublin beaches are closed to the swimmers and bathers due to high levels of sewage in the water caused by heavy rainfall in the last week.

Dublin City Council issued a temporary prohibition order for Dollymount Strand and Sandymount Strand after testing samples of the beaches’ water.

It is not yet clear when the ban will be lifted, but new test samples have been taken and their results will be made public on Monday.
