There are still “heavy delays” on a southside section of the M50, after a car burst into flames earlier on this afternoon.
The incident occurred between junctions 14 (Dun Laoghaire) and 15 (Carrickmines/Leopardstown) on the southbound carriageway shortly after 12.30pm.
It was brought under control by emergency services, but then ignited again, causing further delays as emergency services had to return to the scene.

The tailbacks which built up as a result built up all the way back to junction 13 (Dundrum), meaning the area is best avoided if possible.
No injuries have been reported.
