The owner of the White Moose café has described how he was approached by another influencer asking for a free stay ‘in exchange for advertising’.
Paul Stenson, who owns the Charleville Lodge Hotel and The White Moose Café,
made headlines last year when he shared a screenshot of an email from an influencer who was looking for a free Valentine’s weekend stay.
He questioned how he was meant to pay his staff and later went on to ban influencers from the property.
But it seems this hasn’t put off other influencers from approaching him – and this time Stenson decided to ‘play along’.
Sharing the screenshots on Twitter, he wrote, ‘I’ve just received another request for a free stay in our hotel in return for ‘exposure’. This time I played along.

After asking for a free stay in exchange for coverage on their blog, YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram, the unnamed influencer then assured him she would not tell her followers if anything went wrong during her stay.
When she was asked, ‘If the service is bad, for example, will you mention this in the blog?’, she simply replied, ’No’.
