PICS: This Dublin Dog Rescuing A Trapped Cat Is The Most Heartwarming Story Of The Weekend

James Fenton

Who says cats and dogs have to be enemies?

For centuries, the furry friends have been known to fight like, well, cats and dogs but over the weekend in Dublin, one thoughtful pooch proved that that doesn’t always have to be the case.

Little Mac was out for a walk with his owner Karen in Finglas when the sound of a cat stuck in a wall cavity caught his attention. Mac proceeded to bark until help arrived from Finglas fire station.

Pictures posted to the North Dublin Cat Rescue Facebook page show the tiny size of the hole that Ralphie was stuck in so it’s a good thing that Mac came along when he did.

Great work by all involved. Could Mac and Ralphie become the next heroic canine/feline duo? Only time will tell.
