Dublin Airport has often been the scene of memorable arrivals. From Christmas carollers greeting passengers in December to packets of Tayto being handed out to those who are home to vote, there’s always something for the special occasion.
With that in mind, it doesn’t get much more special than All-Ireland Hurling Final weekend and Dublin Airport have pulled out all the stops to greet Limerick and Galway people flying in from overseas.
Awaiting their arrival is the one and only Liam McCarthy Cup which will be handed to either Galway captain David Burke or Limerick skipper Declan Hannon at Croke Park on Sunday.
By the looks of things, Liam’s presence at arrivals is going down a treat…
“Can a Mr Liam MacCarthy please pick up a white courtesy telephone.” We’re delighted the Liam MacCarthy Cup is here today to welcome arriving passengers ahead of Sunday’s #hurling final. Even the @AirCanada crew wanted a quick pic. @officialgaa #GALvLIM pic.twitter.com/BQiEBLh7UB

A great surprise for those landing in for the big game. The next job now is to secure tickets which seems to be the equivalent of looking for a needle in a haystack.
