While we never got the white Christmas we were promised, snow has finally fallen this winter. But rather than being a source of childish glee, the heavy snowfall is proving itself a major hazard.
According to AA Roadwatch, the Sally Gap has been closed due to the snowfall making roads treacherous. Similar conditions were flagged across Wicklow last night.
There were also reports of snow falling so heavily that motorists were driving straight through red lights without even realising.
Just take a look at some of the scenes from last night.

Time will tell if we’ll get more snow, but one thing’s for sure: this week’s going to be a cold one.
