Felt a slight chill in the air the last couple of days? It can only mean that summer is almost over and soon the supermarket shelves of Dublin will be stocked with Halloween paraphernalia.
It might still be August (just) but The Back Page in Phibsboro is doing what it often does and taking one step ahead of the rest when it comes to planning seasonal parties.
The pub has announced details of its 2018 Halloween party, which is due to take place on Saturday October 28.
The venue has plenty lined up for the spooky evening and Rick And Morty fans in particular are in for a treat.
The Facebook event page for The Haunted Gaff - Back Page Halloween Party lists the following deals and attractions that are sure to make Phibsboro a popular spot over the October Bank Holiday. Here's what's on offer:
- Classic Halloween Movies
– Live Music
– Prizes for best dressed
- Rick n Morty space themed quiz
– Interplanetary Music bingo
– Space disco w/ DJ Stitch
– Rick Potion #9 Cocktail
– Rick & Morty episodes all day
- A SNES Mario Kart Ghost Valley winner stays on comp
As well as all that, the Back Page crazy golf course will be transformed into a 'UV neon wonderland', a description just about vague enough to keep us intrigued.
Sound good? There will be free entry on the night and more information can be found here.
Oans, zwoa, drei, Gsuffa! We absolutely lose it for Oktoberfest in this country. While the event held at the Dublin docklands is yet to make a comeback, we’ll settle for any and all iterations of the celebrations. Oktoberfest 2025 is well underway in Dublin, and with many events going on around the city. So if […]
(and Always) It’s never been more vital to support Queer-Owned Spaces in Dublin. Put your money where your morals are as often as you can. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I know that the people who run our bars, restaurants, and cafés shape the atmosphere more than the decor or the playlist ever […]

Pancakes are one of the few universal foodstuffs. Almost every culture has its own variation, and at their core, they are simple: batter, heat, and a little patience. Somehow, somewhere along the line, we let things go sideways. We let the sugar merchants win. We allowed pancakes to be hijacked by syrup-swamped, powdered-sugar-dusted, fruit-laden monstrosities. […]

Being Single on Valentine’s Day is low key fire if you love events so we put together a Singles Event Guide just for you. Valentine’s Day is creeping up again, a pastel pink hallucination of monogamy and manufactured sentiment. Couples will flock to restaurants, clinking overpriced cocktails, pretending to enjoy a tepid prix-fixe menu, all […]
These Christmassy pubs are basically Santa’s living room right now December’s here, and all of our favourite watering holes have been dusting off Mariah Carey, unearthing their Christmas jumpers, and hurling baubles at every available surface. Which means it’s officially time to ditch the sensible pints and dive headfirst into mulled wine, fairy lights, and […]
Narrowing this list down was hungry work There are a lot of burger offerings in this city, but many of them aren’t up to scratch, or fall flat by not serving the far superior smash burger. We’ve lost a ton of great burger joints as well, from The Counter, to Mosh Burger, to Heisenburger (which […]
