Here Are Five Events Happening This Weekend If You Fancy Doing Something Different

Jen

Summer may be seen as the traditional time to pack your weekends full of activity, but who says autumn can’t be just as busy and fun?

The weekend can be as busy as you want it to be, so if you don’t fancy a weekend in front of the telly (plenty of time for that in the winter), check out this list for a whopper weekend.

1. Gigs

Lots of good gigs on this weekend including ‘These Charming Men’ in Whelans on Saturday night. If you haven’t seen these guys yet and you’re a fan of The Smiths, then this should be your top priority this weekend.

Other gigs:

Wyvern Lingo – Tonight @ The Academy

Soma w/Sick Love and Wynona Bleach – Tonight @ Whelan’s

Aslan – Sunday @ Sandyford House

2.Puppy Play Dates

We told you about this glorious event a while back, but DSPCA is hosting another event tomorrow.

You can register here.

3. Walk: Suffragette’s Green

A walking tour of Stephen’s Green with Maeve Casserly, Historian in Residence, exploring the connections of the local area with the Irish suffrage movement.

Meeting point: Countess Markievicz bust, centre of St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.

Register here.

4. Delicious Dublin Food Tour

Spend 3.5 magical hours exploring Irish food and Dublin’s food scene.

“You will learn about Ireland’s food past as well as discovering the vibrant culinary revival of the Irish capital. The tour combines a mix of ‘off the beaten track’ spots and traditional food to give you an authentic overview of Irish food.”

Get tickets here.

5. Jazz Brunch @ Tram Café

Love brunch? Love Jazz? Then head down to the Tram Café on Sundays where you can listen to some Jazz, Soul, Latin and Bossa Nova standards while enjoying some great coffee and delicious food.

Get there early to ensure you get a table. Groups of four or more are asked to book ahead.
