These Two Dublin Places May Be The Only Ones Showing McGregor’s Fight And Here’s Why

Whether you're a sports fan or not, you'll know that Conor McGregor enters back into the octagon early this Sunday morning.
The UFC 229 event will be broadcast all around the world with hundreds of millions of people watching.
But, if you want to watch in the capital, it seems as though you'll have to do it from the comforts of your own home.
Places where you could watch McGregor's historical fight with Floyd Mayweather in August 2016 were limited but it seems this time around, it'll be even tighter again.
As it stands at the moment, only one place is currently set to show the Conor McGregor clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The 'Green Isle Hotel Conference & Leisure' in Newland Cross, Clondalkin has set up a Facebook event and looks set to have no setbacks as it's charging people €20 a ticket to watch the Lightweight clash.
Doors open at 11pm on Saturday, October 6th with coverage expected to kick off at around 1am.
There is multiple large screens in the place meaning you won't miss a piece of the action no matter where you are.

There is a FULL late bar and free parking on the night as you rock out to DJ Al Gibbs and special guests in the Monster Energy Room.
They have warned that "this will sell out and is a full ticketed event."
You can expect an atmosphere similar to the one that was experienced during the World Cup over the summer...
But it's going to be obviously much, much more busy.
It has been home to BAMMA press conferences in the past also meaning that it has a huge MMA background and followers are familiar with the place.
As well as this, Bluebell United FC will be airing the fight on Saturday night and tickets will be €80 a pop.
The fight will be shown in the clubhouse on a 222-inch projector.

On August 26th 2017, McGregor had a good chunk of the world believing that he was going to beat the best 'pound for pound fighter' that the boxing world had ever seen.
He stuck with him for about three rounds, before the big difference between the two fighters began to show.
It was obvious from the outset that there was never going to be any losers in this battle.
Mayweather was never going to lose, his unbeaten run was going to stay intact and McGregor was going to be laughing all the way to the bank, making enough money to take yet another year off.
When McGregor faced Mayweather just over 13 months ago, there was only a limited amount of places in Dublin showing the fight.
Most of these places will not be showing the fight this time around.
The Wright Venue in Swords said that they would not be staying open for the event:
"Unfortunately we will not be showing the fight. There's no reason at all [as to why they aren't staying open], we are open from 10pm and our staff will be wrecked if we stay open."
One of Dublin's biggest places to watch the fight that would have guaranteed for a great night out and great viewing isn't open anymore.
Sin Nightclub closed down almost one year ago and the Mayweather-McGregor clash would have been one of its last hurrahs, although we didn't know it at the time.
Tamango Nightclub, Portmarnock, another place that showed the last year's fight for just €14 a ticket, will not be showing the Khabib title fight.
"No we won’t be showing it this time round," they told Lovin Dublin.
Krystle Nightclub which has proudly shown fights starring the Crumlin man before is still uncertain whether they will air the fight on Saturday night either.
"We have shown the last few. But obviously no time confirmed yet for it," they told us also.
The Living Room also confirmed that they would not be showing the fight this time.
When McGregor fought Mayweather last year, the hype was something else. Everyone knew it was going to be a real "where were you" moment and it was the only thing on most people's lips that week.
This fight is just as important for Conor but why are few places showing it? Well, according to a source, Gardaí have allegedly clamped down on viewings of the fight because of who's fighting and the huge spectacle of it all.
"It's going to be very hard to find somewhere opened that late that will advertised it.
"[Gardaí] have clamped down because it’s him, any other sporting occasion and it wouldn’t be a problem."
However, when asked by Lovin Dublin if there has been a clamp down on places showing the fight this year, An Garda Síochána states:
"Licenced premises can apply to the courts on a case by case basis to extend their licence."
Vue Cinema - which has been known to show the fights in the past - have been contacted and we're still waiting to hear back from them.
