The Bernard Shaw Has Just Announced It’s Closing Down After 13 Years

Sarah Finnan

In devastating news, The Bernard Shaw has just confirmed that they will indeed be closing.

The rumour mill went into overdrive after it was revealed that the popular Richmond Street pub was refused planning permission for their beer garden earlier this year. But it was all just hearsay until today.

Sharing the announcement on social media, the statement says that “the Shaw, Eatyard, all organisational, art and performance spaces and everything else in the building and yards” will close as soon as the end of October. For good.

The Shaw and Bodytonic Crew will not only be leaving behind a gaping hole on South Richmond Street but a 13-year adventure and lots of memories. Today is a sad day. A very sad day indeed.

Hinting that this isn’t the end and that they will return with “something else, somewhere else”, we can only hope that we won’t have to wait long.

We’ll be sorry to see you go lads.
