A sustainable burger joint in Sandymount has just been awarded ‘Best Burger in Leinster’ by public vote in Burger Fest 2018, signalling a positive start to the year for the restaurant.
BuJo is a trendy burger spot at Sandymount Green that takes burgers to the next level – flame grilled with homemade brioche buns.
Taking part for the first time in Burger Fest 2018, the festival showcases exciting and inventive burger creations from restaurants nationwide. Throughout the eight-day festival in a competition, the public were encouraged to vote for their favourite burger using the hashtag #BurgerFest.
BuJo’s winning burger creation was a 100% Irish, grass fed chargrilled double beef patty accompanied by smoked Monterey Jack cheese, chargrilled caramelised Rocha pear, beechwood-smoked Hampshire rare breed bacon and topped off with Ballymaloe Relish on a toasted BuJo brioche bun carefully designed by Culinary Director, Gráinne O’Keefe.
BuJo owner and founder Michael Sheary commented on the wins, “We are thrilled and humbled to have received these awards. Our sustainability ethos is at the core of BuJo and it is brilliant to be acknowledged for this. Our aim is to build a business that is fair and sustainable while also creating better burgers and delivering an excellent customer experience. We are a unique restaurant and this is reflected in our menu and every burger we create.”
To celebrate the win they’ve created a lip-smacking burger for February… A double patty of grass fed, chargrilled Irish beef complemented by crispy, beechwood-smoked Hampshire rare breed bacon from Ballyjamesduff, Cashel Blue Cheese, caramelised red onions, white truffle mayo and finished with a toasted BuJo brioche bun from Coghlan’s Bakery.
