This Is One Of The Best Restaurants I’ve Ever Tried In Dublin – And It’s Somewhere You’d Never Expect

With its boisterous street market traders and interesting ethnic supermarkets, Moore Street definitely has a special charm of its own.

But the basement of the mall beside the Lidl probably isn’t the first place you’d expect to find a cute, vegan-friendly cafe like Moreish Superfoods.

Weekend Special

Moreish has been open under its current owner (also its chef and only staff member) Michael Bodys since April, but has since got a new name and a total revamp.

“It used to be called Superfoods Takeaway but then we got more seats and I wanted to encourage people to sit in,” he said.

“We just finished the refurbishment three weeks ago but I’d still like to get more tables and comfier chairs.”

True, it might not be the kind of place you’d want to lounge in for the whole evening, but it’s still vibrant and pretty.

More importantly, though, the food is incredible.

Michael uses ‘superfoods’ like kale, blueberries sweet potato, pumpkin and quinoa to create mouth-watering dishes that are mostly vegan and gluten-free.

I had the special – baked spiced pumpkin, grilled halloumi and marinated kale with dukka and raw greens – and I swear to God, I’m still daydreaming about it days later.

After that I had a delicious home-made fig cake – nearly everything Michael sells is made from scratch on-site.

“I use all-natural, fresh ingredients – organic as often as possible,” he explained.

“I always wanted to make healthy food that tasted good too, the kind of thing I like to eat myself.”

Moreish has some loyal customers but because it’s so new and hidden away, business can be quiet.

I absolutely recommend giving the place a try – you won’t regret it.
