You may need one or two of these if you’ve recently watched IT

A Dublin clinic is offering people classes to deal with their coulrophobia, AKA their fear of clowns.

Stephen King’s IT has prompted the fear into many Dubliners since it’s release last week.

Now, you can help overcome that fear with the D4 Clinic in Blackrock. They’re offering  free, downloadable sessions to anyone who has coulrophobia.

The remake of Stephen King’s IT broke records in the US on its opening weekend and has already brought in more than €167 million worldwide.

The D4 Clinic told Newstalk, “With images of clowns in the media over the next few weeks this can create issues from mild anxiety to full blown panic attacks for those with coulrophobia.”

Psychologist and clinical hypnotherapist, Jason O’Callaghan, also added that “with the image on posters, buses, TV and magazines they may find themselves unable to avoid the image of the clown”.
