A man has reportedly been killed in a shooting in Lucan this afternoon.

A body was found at a house on Woodville Avenue shortly before 3pm.

The alarm was raised and Gardai and emergency services attended.

The body of the man, who is though to be in his early 20s, remains at the scene which is preserved for forensic and technical examination.

The office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

This incident is the latest in a number of shootings to have happened around the capital this week.

Last night, a man in his 40s was shot in both legs at a house in Ballymun, while on Thursday an 18-year-old man and a Garda were injured in a shooting in the same area of Dublin.
