An Elderly Woman Was Shot Twice In South Dublin Last Night

An investigation has been launched after a 76-year-old woman was shot in South Dublin last night.

According to the Irish Independent, the incident took place at her home on Oliver Plunkett Avenue, Monkstown (pictured above) at approximately 11pm, Thursday night.

According to reports, the elderly woman was shot twice in the legs.

The victim has since been removed by ambulance to hospital where she is being treated for her injuries. The wounds are not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made. The Gardaí at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station are appealing for witnesses. If you noticed anything suspicious or unusual occurring in the Monkstown area last night, call them on +353 1 666 5000.
