Apollo House looks set to be demolished after Dublin City Council gave the green light to the removal of the building.
The Tara Street site was taken over last week by a group of citizen activists, including Hozier and Glen Hansard, to be converted into emergency accommodation for Dublin’s homeless.
The Home Sweet Home movement has received a huge response, with thousands of people volunteering their time and over €100,000 being pledged to the organisation’s Go Fund Me page.
However, The Irish Examiner is now reporting that the local authority has given permission for the building to be demolished due to safety concerns.
