Dublin GAA Star Appeals For Help After Car Stolen In Portobello

James Fenton

Dublin footballer Michael Darragh MacAuley has appealed for the public’s help after his car was stolen in Portobello over the weekend.

The seven-time All-Ireland winner was playing for his club Ballyboden St Enda’s when the incident happened. Yesterday, the midfielder took to Twitter to ask for help in locating his vehicle, along with a picture of the 182D Subaru Forrester.

In the caption, MacAuley mentioned that his laptop was inside the car at the time, posting: ‘Had my car stolen from Portobello on Saturday night while I was playing a match. Laptop etc. inside. If anyone sees a black 182D Subaru Forrester with Dublin Stickers about, let me know. Not ideal.’

The star went on the tell the Irish Independent that a number of other items were in the car, including his mobile phone and passport.

“I need the passport soon because I’m going to the Lebanon in three weeks with Concern, and the phone has contacts on it that are causing me an inconvenience to be without,” he said before adding: “While the information on the laptop was backed up to the cloud it was a brand-new MacBook, so it’s annoying that it’s gone.”

Gardaí are currently investigating the incident.
