This Is How Much Money Dublin’s 3Arena Made How Last Year

Sarah

Turns out that the 3Arena in Dublin makes an absolute BOMB in box office sales each year, with 2016’s figures making us wish we had some shares in the popular music venue.

The venue clocked up a huge €28.19 million from ticket sales throughout the year, according to data released by Pollstar and reported in The Irish Independent.

Figures show that Adele’s two sell-out shows alone generated €2.4 million, with 25,290 fans paying to see her gigs at the venue last March.

The other big seller at the 3Arena was pop-banger singer Justin Bieber, whose two concerts last November generated €2.1m.

The box office sales are shared between promoter, artist and venue operator, making it a pretty lucrative business for all involved.

Figures also showed that although the area dropped from a total of 600,000 fans attending the venue in 2015 to just over 500,000 in 2016,  3Arena is still the 23rd-best attended arena in the world.

With top-performing artists such as Drake, Bob Dylan, Radiohead and Little Mix already confirmed to play the arena in 2017, it looks set to be another good year for the people at 3Arena.
