Gardaí have appealed for assistance after a large quantity of merchandise for this weekend's Dublin Marathon was stolen.

A post on social media says that the hats, scarves and jackets were taken between 4.30pm on Saturday  October 19 and 6.30pm on Monday October 21 from a 'van parked outside a house in the Sutton Park area of Dublin.'

The statement goes on to add that the merchandise is not on general sale and was intended to be used by stewards and volunteers at the event, which takes place this Sunday from 8.40am.

Gardaí have asked anyone with information or anyone who is offered the products for sale to contact Raheny Garda Station on 01 6664300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station. More information can be found here.
