Gardai Fear ‘Vigilante’ Attacks As Dublin Home Is Fire Bombed

kaylawalsh

Gardai fear more ‘vigilante’ attacks could be carried out in Tyrellstown after a house in the area was fire bombed earlier in the month.

A woman and her three sons were in the property at the time but managed to escape unharmed.

It’s thought the fire was revenge for a series of violent taxi robberies in the west Dublin suburb.

An 18-year-old living at the house is believed to be a senior member of a teen gang who are the main suspects in the robberies, The Heraldreports.

A specialist Garda unit is now operating out of Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Detectives are investigating a possible organised crime link to the fire, as the robberies brought an increased police presence to the area which is causing problems for local gangs.
