Gardai are on the hunt for a violent rapist who attacked a women in Clondalkin last July.

Three suspects had been identified in relation to the incident but they were this week ruled out following the results of DNA testing.

The woman has been walking home from work on the Ninth Lock Road at 3.20am when she was set upon by three men.

She was raped by one of the men while being held at knifepoint and gardai believe that DNA evidence will hold the key to identifying the attacker.

According to The Irish Independent, detectives are currently comparing samples from previous offenders in the DNA database in an effort to solve the crime.
