James Vincent McMorrow Has Released A Brand New Song – And It’s Soulful As Hell

Emotive singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow, a Malahide native, has dropped his newest single, 'Get Low', an unapologetically soulful track, fresh from his new upcoming album We Move, out September 2.

Using nothing but a stripped-back guitar, drum machine and captivating synths, McMorrow pairs this with his undeniably beautiful vocal to create a piece so exquisite that is has been genuinely worth the wait.

'Get Low' is the second track coming from his highly anticipated forthcoming album We Move, solidifying the direction which he hopes to be pursuing. The first track released was 'Rising Water', a funkier take on his usually softer style.

However brave a move it may be, this newer soulful genre suits his style impeccably, deeming it a perfect fit for his falsetto.

Commenting on his lean towards all this particular genre, McMorrow told The Interns:

There are people who make R&B records that probably four of five years ago were making records with guitars. The lines are pretty blurry these days and that’s a really good thing.

The two singles suggest a move for McMorrow into a new musical direction, exploring hip hop as an influence - this comes, no doubt, after working with the producer responsible for Drake's enormous hit Hotling Bling, Nineteen85.

Along with the release of We Move, this seems to be an impressively busy year for James. His cover of Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Game' was featured in the latest season of Game Of Thrones, while also boasting a huge collaboration with Kygo on the single 'I'm In Love'.

We, along with the plethora of music fans supporting him, are expecting big things from the Dubliner with his next move, and for some reason, we think the best is yet to come.
