Watch: Pair Of Killer Whales Spotted Off The Dublin Coast

Jen

A pair of Orca whales were spotted off the Dublin coast yesterday.

The two whales were spotted just of the coast of Howth by Shipwright John Leonard.

According to the Irish Whale and Dolphin group, this is the second sighting of orca whales in the last couple of weeks.

The group are working on establishing the identity of the pair and if they are John Coe and Dopey Dick of the Scottish West Coast Community group of killer whales.

The footage below contains language some viewers may find offensive.

The Irish Whale and Dolphin group are asking people to share any photographs of the whales with them, particularly if they show the dorsal fin clearly as it will help them identify the pair.

Please email to [email protected] for photo ID matching on the IWDG killer whale Photo ID catalogue. You can also report the encounter for validation on www.iwdg.ie.
