North Dublin To Get New €2 Million Seawater Swimming Baths In Six Weeks Time

Sarah

Let’s hope the sunny weather will still be around in six weeks time, because a €2 million refurbishment of the Clontarf Seawater Baths, including a cafe and restaurant, will be open for use.

The Irish Times reports that the development has received a seven-day drinks licence, and that a modern open-air swimming pool will be open by mid-September at the very latest.

The existing seawater baths, which had been on the site since the 1890s, were completely reconstructed and the new baths will use seawater from Dublin Bay that is filtered and clean.

Swimming will be at natural environmental temperatures, but the best news is that a water-heating facility is onsite, so we may be swimming in balmy waters this Christmas Day swim.

The baths are expected to be popular with people from all over Dublin.
