Plans are in place for Tallaght Stadium to be used as a 20,000 capacity live music venue

Plans are in place to use Tallaght Stadium as a live music venue that will accommodate 20,000 people.

A new north stand is set to open at the arena, which is owned by South Dublin County Council. There are also plans for a  new corporate area from which attendees can enjoy live music concerts, festivals and community events.

The stadium was expanded earlier this year when a new south stand was opened. It currently acts as a home for Shamrock Rovers FC and also regularly hosts the Ireland women’s team and underage sides. Located just a short walk from the Tallaght Luas stop, the stadium is easily accessible from the city centre and should make for a popular destination for music-lovers if it all goes ahead.

Analayis of the plans is expected to be completed early in 2020.
