The renting game is a bad one to participate in at the moment, especially if you're in Dublin.
A new report by Daft.ie on Monday morning revealed that the average price of renting in Dublin now is nearly €2k.
At €1,968, Dublin rents is up by 10.9% year-on-year, while National rents are 30% than their 2008 'Celtic Tiger Peak'.

The average rent nationwide is now €1,334, which is an all-time high.
It's no surprise that the most expensive places to rent are in Dublin:
And the least expensive places to rent are mostly towards the west of the country:
Economist at Trinity College Dublin and the author of the Daft report, Ronan Lyons has said that:
"The recent increase in residential construction is being driven by estate houses, not apartment schemes.
“Dramatically increasing the construction of urban apartments, for both market and social housing sectors, must become the priority for policymakers in 2019.
"The majority of those new urban apartments will be for the rental sector, either market or social. That is what the country’s housing system needs. The question now is whether it will get it."
