“Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road…”
Dublin is an ever-changing city and while it’s nice to welcome modern innovations, it’s always hard to say goodbye to some of the city’s mainstays.
Sadly, the time has come for the city centre to bid farewell to one of its most famous shopfronts. Anyone who has strolled up Nassau Street over the past five decades will have noticed the iconic Knobs And Knockers household accessory store and may have even had a childish snigger at its name. Sure even some of the world’s biggest rockers are fans of the shop.
Well, pretty soon the sight will be a thing of the past after confirmation that Knobs and Knockers is packing its bags and moving to Dún Laoghaire. The news was posted on Twitter by Graeme McQueen, head of communications at Dublin Chamber.
Sad news… Knobs & Knockers is indeed closing down. Moving to Dun Laoghaire after 47 years on Nassau Street. End of an era… pic.twitter.com/DAvZCeBlFX

The end of an era indeed. Take care of her, Dún Laoghaire.
