Sean Spicer Tipped To Be New US Ambassador To Ireland

Brian Burns has officially withdrawn from consideration for US Ambassador to Ireland, which means the post is up for grabs, and some wild rumours are circulating over who is tipped to come to Dublin.

Irish Central reports that insiders in the States have in fact favourited Sean Spicer, the current White House Press Secretary to take up the position.

The wannabe-Irishman has already been proudly spotted wearing Shamrock covered pants on St. Patrick’s Day and is in fact reportedly widely liked at the White House and at the Irish Embassy, despite media ridicule and (admittedly hilarious) SNL sketched by Melissa McCarthy.

A spokesman for the US embassy in Ireland said that “this time, there has not yet been an official nomination by the White House.”

Only time will tell…
