These Are 2017’s Most Boring Jobs In The World

If you find yourself stifling yawns and counting down the minutes on the clock every single day that you're in work, it could be because you work in one of the world's most boring jobs.

Yep, new research by employment specialists Emolument has found that there's certain jobs that are way more boring than others.

People working in legal jobs take the prize of being the most bored in work, with 81% of those surveyed saying that they found their job to be boring.

Strikingly, of the 14 different professions that Emolument looked at, most of the workers were bored in 11 of them.

People working in Research & Development are reported to being the most excited about their jobs, with 55% of workers saying they weren't bored - perhaps due to the ever-changing nature of their work.

And while you might think that an entry-level position would be way less exciting than a CEO role, the research found that employees at both lower and high level positions were equally as bored.

Which basically bursts the bubble of thinking your job will get more exciting the further up the career ladder you go.

The "most boring countries" for work has also been revealed, with Ireland sitting pretty smack bang in the middle.

You can thank your lucky stars if you don’t work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) or Italy, where 83% of workers are bored, although the report suggests that the high salaries in the UAE tempt people to stay in their jobs.

In Italy, it's thought that the economic instability since 2008 means that many locals are often content with just having a job and lack the confidence to quit.

Speaking about the findings, Emolument COO Alice Leguay said: "Boredom at work is a key issue for firms trying to keep millennials engaged, especially in traditional industries such as accounting and legal jobs which can be perceived as dull.

"Employers attempt to give young employees the satisfaction of making an impact in their work life in order to prevent them from moving on too swiftly. Without an inspirational leadership figure, or an exciting professional challenge to motivate younger team members, boredom will quickly settle in."
